More than Initially Saved
On March 30, 1980 I was saved while I was reading the Bible. As I began to believe firmly in the death and resurrection of Christ, I threw off all the burden of my sins. After that, for sixteen years I struggled to live according to the Lord. Around that time, by an acquaintance's recommendation, I began to read Orthodoxy of the Church written by Watchman Nee and God's New Testament Economy by Witness Lee. Reading these books released my oppressed heart. I saw the light concerning the church and the Christian life. The denomination I used to belong to showed me how to be saved initially; however I was not taught clearly how to live a Christian life after salvation. In the local churches I learned that after regeneration I needed to grow in life, and to be transformed, glorified, and eventually conformed to the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:17-18). When I first received the Lord, I felt empty in my heart until I found out that the Lord is making His home in my heart (Ephesians 3:17) and also like Ephesians 2:22 says? In whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in spirit. I began to seek the Lord so He could fill my being. Amen Lord, come quickly.
